Sunny views over Loughrigg Tarn
30th August
With summer slowly coming to an end here in the Lake District, we thought we would leave you with this great picture overlooking Loughrigg Tarn in the Langdale Valley.
23rd August
One of the most popular activities that people come to the Lake District for is walking and hiking the many trails, routes and fells in the area. The Lake District is really something when it comes to walking as it offers everything from gentle strolls around the shores of our lakes right up to the high end scrambling and steep accents to the peak of a fell.
However many people who visit the Lake District either don't have the knowledge or the experience to get the most out of their trip, we recommend Keswick Rambles. Keswick Rambles have over 30 years of experience walking in the Lake District and further afield and can help all levels of walkers get the most out of their day with a guided walk.
For more information please visit the Lake District Walking Guides website and keep up to date with the latest things going on via the Keswick Rambles blog. We will leave you with a photo from their latest trip to the North west of Scotland.
Beautiful Peaceful views over Ennerdale Water

If you would like more information on things to do in the English Lake District during your stay just ask at reception and we will be happy to help you plan your days acitivities.

Many of the houses come to life throughout the year with a range of live events and festivals for all to enjoy. Please visit the website (www.lakedistricthistorichouses.co.uk) for more information on these events.

Keswick Fairtrade have set the theme for this year's celebration fortnight as "TAKE A STEP"!
They explain that a step can be anything you do to support Fairtrade, no matter how small. Even from swapping your sugar to Fairtrade or to hosting your own chocolate tasting event! They encourage you to tell a neighbour or workmates to take a 'step'. Once the step is complete they encourage you to go to www.fairtrade.org.uk too register your 'step'.
The aim for the whole of the Fairtrade movement is to try and get 1.5 million 'steps' by the end of 2012. Each step supports farmers and workers to take their own steps towards a brighter future. A step can be anything you do to support Fairtrade. The more products we buy the more producers are helped. It has a 'win win' effect all round!
