Keswick is a brilliant place for both mountain and road bikers so we are sure that you will enjoy yourself on the trails in he surrounding area.
At Howe Keld we offer all guests a secure Bike storage area in a lock up garage so you will always have secure room for your bike when staying with us.
Keswick Bikes have 3 specialist Lake District locations which are all in Keswick and stock a massive bike brand portfolio. They offer expert, impartial advice to make sure that everyone gets exactly the right bike for their kind of riding. They will also be more than happy to help you choose the perfect route for your needs.
The Cyclewise bike shop and hire centre based in Whinlatter Forest offers a range of services including bike hire, training, information and much more. In the two years they have been running they have been awarded a Gold Awad and voted the 9th Best UK Workshop out of over 550 bike shops.
Whinlatter Forest is located just west of Keswick (click here for location) and the mountain biking is some of the best in the country. In only its second year, the area and its trails were voted the second best trail centre in the UK.

Grizedale Forest is a fantastic place for biking which has a range of safe, off-road routes for different abilities along with a load of forest roads and bridleways. Grizedale Mountain Bikes is the on site bike shop where you can hire a bike to make the most of this beautiful area and cycle routes.

The Coast 2 Coast route offers something for everyone spanning a distance of 140 miles from west to east, the route passes right through Keswick on its way. For more information on the route please visit the C2C website or see the map below.
The National Cycle Network is a network of cycle paths in the United Kingdom that link the whole country with many many miles of traffic free routes. Quiet lanes and traffic calmed city streets are also included to form a comprehensive cycling network right across the country.
